During checkout, you’ll have the option to select Credit/Debit Card at the Payment Details stage.
The following card types are accepted:
Our site uses a secure server that implements Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect your credit card information (certified to the required standard for encrypted credit card transactions).
Due to recent attempts at credit card fraud, we will need to see your credit card when making a local van delivery.
For Trade Counter collections, unfortunately we are unable to accept credit card payments over the telephone.
This is because all card payments have to go through a payment checking authorisation process which can only be done online.
We have no way of manually entering card details. As customer cardholder, security checks are prompted via the online payment system.
TLC will request pre-authorisation to charge the order amount from your bank or credit card company when you place your order. Once we have received approval, TLC reserves the amount on your card until your order is invoiced.
We may re-authorise and charge your card when the order is ready to invoice, if:
There is a delay to your order, and the pre-authorisation on your card expires, or
We need to split your order.
Strong Customer Authentication is a set of upcoming regulatory requirements designed to make paying online more secure and reduce payment fraud.
SCA adds an extra layer of security when end-customers make a payment online.
Until now, shoppers have been able to enter their payment details and complete their purchases, although some businesses voluntarily choose to ask for further authentication.
SCA is a form of two-factor authentication designed to prove that end-customers are who they say they are, with specific rules around what constitutes ‘authentication’. It requires two forms of validation out of three available categories.
There are three valid categories of authentication available as part of SCA.
Within each category, there are several potential methods for satisfying that category. The three types are:
Knowledge – something only the payer knows, e.g. a password, PIN, passphrase or secret fact/answer.
Possession – something only the payer possesses, e.g. their mobile phone, smartwatch, smart card or a token.
Inherence – is something the payer is, e.g., fingerprint, facial recognition, voice patterns, DNA signature, and iris format.
Only when the payer has provided two of these forms of authentication will they be allowed to complete a transaction.
