The VentPLUG is designed and fitted with a special membrane to enable equalisation of the air inside and outside of an enclosure (light fitting etc). IP rated enclosures are designed to keep water out but as a consequence this can cause condensation, which can cause damage to expensive components.

Condensation is caused by changes in temperature, particularly in enclosures used outside.

The VentPLUG prevents this by not letting water in and letting air out, so the air pressure is equalised. This means that expensive electronic or electrical equipment is not damaged, such as lighting control gear, or circuitry for other equipment.

It might look small but it definitely does a big job.
