You will need 1 x 6LR61(PP3) alkaline battery. We recommend that
only long-life alkaline batteries are used. This product will not work with
NiCd rechargeable batteries. A small flathead screwdriver
Extender Please Note : The extender
is not suitable for outdoor installation. We recommend you read the Vital
Information about System Codes before commencing installation. Open the Extender
cover using a flathead screwdriver, Diagram1, and remove the screws. Decide
on the location of the Extender and on the length of cable you will require.
Feed the cable through the cable inlet (A in Diagram 2). Attach the Extender to
the wall using the screws provided, Diagram 2, then follow one of the two
installation options below. Option 1. Installing the Bell Push
Extender for use with an existing Wired Bell Push and Door Chime. Disconnect
the power supply to your existing Chime by isolating the mains supply (if
transformer-powered) or removing the batteries. Connect the Extender in either
of the 3 positions X,Y or Z as shown in Diagram 3, using terminals 0 and 2.
Option 2. Installing the Extender for use with a traditional wired Bell
Push, when no wired Chime exists (Diagram 4). If you are using the Extender
to allow you to have a traditional decorative bell push on your door, connect
the Extender to your traditional wired Bell Push using terminals 0 and 1,
See Diagram 4. To complete your installation, fit the 6LR61(PP3) battery as
shown in Diagram 5 and replace the Extender cover securely. Please
note : The Extender always requires a 6LR61(PP3) battery. Always check
that the wires are connected to the correct terminals before reconnecting the
power or replacing the Chime batteries. Your Extender can be set to up to make the Door
Chime play a 2 note or an additional note sequence (The number of additional
note sequences available will vary depending on the model of Libra Door Chime
you are using with your Extender). The Tune Selector in the Extender (B in
Diagram 2) is factory set to position 1 making the Door Chime play the standard
2 note sequence. If you would prefer the 4 note additional sequence just move
Tune Selector to position 2. If you have another Libra Bell Push, for example
at your back door, this can be set up to make your door chime play a different
note sequence to that of your Extender. You can change the note sequences
at any time by using the procedure above. Please note: The note sequence
choices described above are not available when the Extender is being used
with a Libra Mini Chime, Model D292 Friedland Libra products use a coding
system to ensure that they work together and that there is no interference
to or from a neighbouring Friedland wirefree product. The system code in all
Libra products is set using a series of 8 switches (C in Diagram 2). In order
for your Chime to work with a new Libra Extender and other Libra products, you
will need to ensure that the system codes are adjusted to be the same by following
this procedure: 1. Check switches 1 to 8 in your existing Libra products.
2. Remove the front cover from the Extender and look at the position of the switches
(C in Diagram 2). 3. If switches 1 to 8 are not in the same position change
the switches in your new Extender to match those in your existing products
using a pen tip, as illustrated in Diagram 2. Example: if you set switch
1 in your Door Chime to the ON position, then you must set switch 1 in your
Extender to the ON position. In the unlikely event that your Door Chime rings
without your Extender being activated, other Friedland wirefree product, either
your own or a neighbour's, is using the same code as your own. You should
change the system code in all your products in the same way as described above.
Other Libra Products All Friedland Libra products are compatible
and will activate each other if the system codes are set to be the same, as
described above. For example, if you install an additional Libra Bell Push
for your back door, just ensure that you adjust the system code to be the
same as your Extender and your Door Chime.\
