These calculations are based on straight runs of
smooth sided circular ducting.
The use of outlet grilles curves / bends or of corrugated
or spiral duct will have the effect of reducing the
length of duct that can be used without causing the
fan to go into aerodynamic stall (i.e. the fan continues
to rotate but no air extract will take place).
