Free-floating single celled algae causes green
water in ponds. This algae is too small to catch even
with an effective pond filter. Our UVC's expose the
algae particles to just enough UV light so that they
clump together (flocculate). These larger particles
can then be easily filtered out as they pass through
the pond filter.
A key difference between our UV units
and others is that ours are clarifiers, not sterilisers.
If the water were sterilised, then the algae would be
killed, and although dead it would not be any bigger
and so just as hard to catch with a filter.
The way in which we achieve this
is by combining our experience of pond filtration with
the latest UV technology from the lamps that are in
the product.
